Gators Team Info

Welcome to the Greenway Gators!

Whether you are new or returning Gator, we hope that you will find this summer’s swim season better than ever.

Affiliated with the Old Dominion Swim League (ODSL), the Greenway Gators is a recreational and developmental swim team that provides its members an opportunity to improve swimming skills, increase confidence in the water, and exhibit good sportsmanship while participating in structured practices and friendly competition during swim meets.

Eligibility

Any child who is 18 or under (by June 15th) and does not have another recreational team affiliation is eligible to register for the swim team. Accounts must be in good standing (aka, registration fees paid) to participate in practices, meets, and events.

NEW - 2026 Swim Team Fees

Registration Greenway Farms Resident Non-Resident of Greenway Farms *
First Swimmer $130 $130
Additional Swimmers $110 $110
Mini Gators $110 $110

A $100 non-resident surcharge (per family) applies to all non-residents of Greenway Farms. The surcharge will be reimbursed if a Greenway Farms Pool Membership is purchased for the summer.

Registration fees cover HOA fees, lifeguards' and coaches' salaries, awards (ribbons and end-of-season), insurance, ODSL fees, equipment for swim meets, t-shirts, and social events.

Payment & Refund Policy

All accounts must be in good standing (all dues paid) for swimmers to be eligible to compete in ODSL events. Full payment for the season is required before any swimmer may attend New Swimmer Evaluation and/or participate in practices.

In the event that a swimmer registered with the Mini Gators ($110) is advanced to the Age Group swim team ($130), an additional $20 will be due to reconcile the difference in registration fees.

If your swimmer withdraws from the swim team on or before June 6, you will receive a full refund minus a $25 processing fee per swimmer. As team expenses and league commitments are finalized at that time, refunds cannot be provided after June 6.

Parent Volunteers

It takes approximately 30-35 volunteers to run our swim meets. Every job is important, but none require too much training. Each family is required to volunteer 3 times during the season. See the Volunteering tab for complete details.

Swimsuits

Each team member is responsible for purchasing a swimsuit, either a team suit or a solid black or green suit. Team suits can be purchased through our online store. Additionally, the team provides a swim cap and team T-shirt for every registered swimmer.

Team Swimsuits for Mini Gators (OPTIONAL)
Our Mini Gators are not required to wear matching or green swimsuits and jammers. They may wear any suit since they are not actively competing.

Other Gear

All swimmers must wear swim goggles. When selecting goggles, keep in mind that they need to be sized accordingly. All swimmers with hair long enough to reach their eyes must wear swim caps for practice and meets. It is difficult to learn proper stroke mechanics if a child is struggling with a mouth full of hair!
